Silver Eagle
The American Silver Eagle, introduced by the U.S. Mint in 1986, is the nation's official silver bullion coin. Its obverse features Adolph A. Weinman's iconic "Walking Liberty" design, originally from the 1916 half dollar, symbolizing freedom and progress. The reverse initially displayed John Mercanti's heraldic eagle but was updated in 2021 to Emily Damstra's depiction of a bald eagle landing on a branch. Each coin contains one troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver, with its weight and purity guaranteed by the U.S. government. Over the years, the Silver Eagle has been minted in various forms, including bullion, proof, and uncirculated versions, making it a favorite among both investors and collectors
